While the trend of most marketers is to do “a little bit of everything,” the best marketers will just pick one strength and build on it. The tools are mainly focused on the decision-making stage, which has the effect of navigating the customer. When focusing on your brand's strengths, you should focus on product, commitment, experience, or price. Many marketing campaigns fail because the person in charge does not grasp these advantages.

If you have one strength and have optimized it, now is the time to shift your focus to another strength. For example, many brands start out with a product advantage but over time move to a strength of promise or experience.
